Quintana Roo Illicito Frameset

The Quintana Roo Illicito Triathlon Frameset is not only unique to triathlon, but unique to bikes in general. The likes of the Illicito have not been seen in cycling, triathlon or even in concept stores. In triathlon, wind and drag push you backwards in the standings while ruining your legs for the run. Quintana Roo stays true to their tri roots by coming up first with shift technology to move wind from the drive side to the "clean" side of your bike. This season they've somehow upped that by removing the left side seat stay. Why the left side? Is the left side not already the "clean" side of the bike? Exactly. That clean left side gets even more pristine at the most drag-heavy yaw angles in the wind tunnel. More so than any other bike on the planet. Compelling yes, but now let's get nuts. Since 86% of the Illicito's airflow is directed toward the absent seat stay due to the afore mentioned shift technology a new effect began to take shape. QR constructed a Leading Edge Absent (LEA) surface on the non drive chain-stay resulting in a sail effect. You've never prayed so hard for a windy race in your life. The QR Illicito comes as a frameset only and is constructed with higher modulus carbon fiber than the current CD0.1 bikes. The Illicito comes with a fork, headset, seat post and brakes, so you might as well pick up a new build kit while you're shopping. NOTE: This is a frameset, not a complete bike

Features and Specifications:

Leading Edge Absence (LEA: By eliminating the left seat stay and "shifting" 86% of the airflow to that side QR has bolstered the non-drive chainstay producing a sail effect.

Shift Technology: While riding, a surge of air is created from behind the front whee and the unprecedented aerodynamics of the CD0.1 enables suction to draw the wind off to the “clean” side (non-drive side) of the bike. Thus, less resistance is created, making you the sleekest rider on the course.
