PowerTap Wireless Speed and Cadence Sensor

PowerTap 2.4 Wireless Speed and Cadence Sensor:
This sensor works wirelessly to your coded, wireless PowerTap computer to calculate the speed or cadence.
Calculate your cadence: Out of the box a PowerTap 2.4 wireless power meter calculates the cadence from the hub by sensing the torque output from your drive side leg. During steady efforts this calculation is extremely realiable, however it is not as good when there are fluctuations in your cadence. The PowerTap 2.4 wireless cadence sensor comes to you ready to be used as a cadence sensor. Just put the included magnet on your crank arm and place the cadence sensor on your chain stay!
Calculate your speed: The wireless speed sensor can be placed on the front fork or seat stay to be used as a backup or primary speed sensor for your wireless, coded PowerTap computer. This is an excellent way to be able to use your PowerTap computer as a cycling computer when you are using a bike not equipped with a PowerTap SL 2.4 hub. When the sensor arrives at your doorstep you will need to unscrew the back, take out the battery, and flip the small black switch to "S". This allows the sensor to be used a speed sensor.
Regardless of using the sensor as a speed or cadence sensor you will need to find the code for the sensor using the "Learn" feature in your PowerTap computer. This is accomplished by holding "Mode" and "Select" down till the menu comes up. You will want to go into Menu #5. Continue to scroll thru the this menu till you reach Speed or Cadence. When the word "LEARN" appears, hold select down till this word starts flashing. After a few seconds the PowerTap CPU will find the sensor and learn the code! You are now ready to ride!
Compatible with all PowerTap wireless computers.
