The HED Stinger Flamme Rouge wheels have everything that makes the standard HED Stingers great: superb aerodynamics and amazing crosswind handling. What sets them apart over the standard HED Stingers? The Flamme Rouge wheels have ceramic bearings, a forged titanium ratchet ring, titanium skewers, and carbon hub shells.

HED took the Stinger back to the wind tunnel to refine it's shape and the end result was a 100g of less drag at 15 degrees of yaw over its predecessor. What does that translate to? More speed without any additional effort. Such an incredible improvement that HED asked the wind tunnel technicians to re-check the calibration on the balance mechanism to make sure the numbers we saw were correct!

The Stinger 6 is fast, period. With a 15 degree stall angle, means this wheel will be the weapon of choice for a huge range of wind conditions.

Speed, even when confined just to wheels, involves more than just low drag. Tire efficiency, cornering speed, handling, strength and stiffness, and even comfort are important factors for overall speed. All are addressed in the Stinger 6. The redesigned C2 tire well secures the tire in a wider and slightly deeper “cradle”. With increased support of the tire carcass, sidewall flexion is reduced, and less flexion vastly increases cornering stability and general handling. It also improves tire efficiency. One hard corner at speed will show you just how much the C2 well decreases tire wash under heavy loading.

The HED Stinger 6 is also 20% stiffer laterally and 16% more impact resistant, thanks to a layup with 3 separate carbon cloths and a very specific lay-up that carefully controls variable wall thicknesses and fiber orientation.
